This site is my contribution to help get Square Dancing more noticed in Wales and around the UK. There are one or two other things here as well.
DANCING SHOULD ALWAYS BE FUN
I first started going to Barn Dances and Square Dances in the late 1970s and found them enjoyable.
I moved to Wales in 1984 and helped form the first Square Dance club in Wales.
I started calling shortly after as the caller we had for our club let us down and nobody else would take the job on.
Since then I have gone from stength to strength teaching square dance and calling both square dances and barn dances.
Why should you dance?
Dancing is good for you, it is the exersize that everyone is saying we all need.
It can help you relax and relieve stress as you think about what steps you are doing and where you should be.
It gives you a break from your day to day problems.
I am happy to call squares at both Mainstream and Plus, including APD and By Defination.
I also call squares to non dancers and Barn Dances.
Calling barn dances, hoedowns and square dances with a live group is proving more and more popular.
Most of all dancing should be FUN.
